Why Ryokanbook Was Born

During my university years, I was traveling by bicycle from Tokyo to Minamiaizu, Fukushima. However, I ran out of money in the snowy mountains and was rescued by a ryokan. I will never forget their sincerity. They let me rest in the hot springs, prepared meals for me, and welcomed me warmly. To this day, I remain close with that ryokan and have never forgotten their kindness. While studying in Singapore and traveling around the world, I stayed at many hotels, but I never found hospitality or Japanese aesthetic consciousness that surpassed ryokans. I can confidently say that Ryokan is Extreme. However, ryokans are located deep in regional areas, difficult to access, and lack information, making them challenging for foreigners to visit. I created Ryokanbook so that traditional Japanese ryokans filled with culture can be loved by people around the world.
