Gohan Cafe SOU

One Soup, Three Dishes — Handmade Meals That Celebrate the Character of Each Ingredient

 About Gohan Cafe SOU

Ryuketsu Shrine, situated in Murou, Uda City, Nara Prefecture, is an ancient shrine known for its deeply rooted nature worship and mystical atmosphere. In the mountains spreading behind the shrine lies a legendary sacred site called “Kissho Ryuketsu” (Auspicious Dragon Cave), which has been revered since ancient times as the dwelling place of a dragon deity. This site has been highly valued as a place of prayer for rain and bountiful harvests, and it is said that during the Heian period, the Imperial Court also recognized it as a sacred place for rain-making prayers. Even today, a solemn atmosphere pervades the area, as if nature itself is the object of worship, making visitors feel a profound sense of tranquility and mystery.
